Mr. Craig Marshall
Managing Director
Mr Craig Marshall is the Managing Director of Empire Oil & Gas N.L. He is a geologist with 30 years technical and managerial experience in the petroleum and mineral industry in Australia and overseas. He has worked in Australia, S E Asia and the United Kingdom.
Craig Marshall has founded and played a key role in the formation and successful listing of a number of both oil and gas and mining companies on the Australian and New Zealand Stock Exchange commencing corporate life in 1986. Craig was Chairman of Directors of two of these public companies and the Managing Director of a petroleum exploration company, Anzoil N.L. Craig played an integral role in obtaining the first Production Sharing Contract in Vietnam's onshore Hanoi Basin. Craig resigned from Anzoil in 1993 to pursue the development of coal seam gas prospects in the Bowen Basin in Queensland. These were sold to Continental Oil Company (Conoco) who developed the coal seam gas assets which are now gas productive and owned by Australian major company Origin Energy.
From 1995 onwards Craig pursued the development of Empire Oil & Gas N.L. and the Perth Basin assets. Empire Oil & Gas N.L. listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 15 January 1998. Prior to 1986 Craig was employed as an exploration geologist for a number of Australian oil and gas companies, later becoming an independent consultant petroleum geologist specialising in the areas of basin studies, prospect generation and wellsite geology.
Craig Marshall holds a BSc Geology Honours degree. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and is a Certified Practicing Geologist. BSc(Hons), F.Aus.IMM, CPGeo.
Dr. Bevan Warris
Executive Director
Dr. Warris is an Executive Director of Empire Oil & Gas NL. He is a petroleum geologist with 39 years technical and managerial experience in the petroleum exploration industry both internationally and in Australia.
As a director of SOCDET Management Limited, the manager of the Sydney Oil Company Drilling and Exploration Trust, this trust became heavily involved in exploration areas in the Philippines and was taken over by Novus Petroleum Limited. During this time (1994-96), the market capitalization of SOCDET increased from $1.6 million to $45 million on a diluted basis.
He was previously general manager of Barrack Energy Limited which during the period 1986 - 1990, drilled nine exploration wells in Western Australia and made four discoveries. These were the Mount Horner and North Yardanogo Oilfields and the Beharra Springs Gasfield in the onshore Perth Basin, and the Rivoli Gasfield in the offshore Carnarvon Basin.
He was also chief executive and managing director of Pancontinental Petroleum Limited which, between 1980-84, drilled thirty-two wells and discovered two gasfields and seven oilfields.
During 1972-78, he was Senior Geologist and Exploration Team Leader for Burmah Oil Company of Australia Limited which became Woodside Petroleum Development. Between 1973-75, he was seconded to Burmah Oil (North Sea) Limited in London where he was involved in the development of the giant Ninian Oilfield.
As an independent consultant, he has carried out extensive basin studies on the North West Shelf, Perth, Bonaparte, Canning and Cooper/Eromanga basins in Australia plus areas of South East Asia and in particular, Indonesia.
Dr Warris holds a BSc (Geology) 1st Class Honours and a PhD (Geology) from the University of Sydney. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is also AAPG Certified Petroleum Geologist No. 4723.
Mr. Neil Joyce
Non-Executive Director
Mr. Joyce is a Non-Executive Director and the Company Secretary of Empire Oil & Gas NL. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 26 years experience in the corporate and business sector.
He specializes in corporate and personal taxation consulting, Prospectus registration, corporation's legislative requirements and the Listing Rules.
He has particular expertise in business acquisitions, company acquisitions and takeovers, tax effective financing and structuring of business entities, capital gains taxation and many other areas.
Mr. Joyce's vast experience includes consulting to a wide range of listed and unlisted companies and businesses in many industries, including mining, finance, manufacturing and wholesale.
